Achy.

30 12 2008

As mentioned in the earlier entry, I wanted to go gym, and so I did. I usually would just go for Funkblitz (hence thereforth known as FB) at 1730 and then do the machines for a little while. I’ve always wanted to try the Low Impact class (hence thereforth known as LO) but we were always in a rush to somewhere else. However, today I went to gym alone (the aloevera wasn’t free) and I decided to give myself a challenge.

That was – to go for two straight classes in a row! I succeeded (okay fine I cheated a little – I skipped the cooldown of LO because I wanted to get the showers ahead of the others). (: It was quite shiok to workout in class for 1 hour 45 minutes, though it really got quite tiring towards the end and I didn’t quite have energy to follow the rather fast paced LO (and they call it low impact – maybe its just me).

Something interesting happened in LO though.

LO is a pretty packed class, packed with rich aunties who can afford and are willing to pay the exorbitant fees of joining a specialised gym. So, it was my first foray into LO, and you have these expert aunties who knew exactly what to do, at the correct timings. Honestly, I was pretty impressed and freaked out by how synchronised everyone were, and cheering at the trainer’s instructions. Wow. But that wasn’t the interesting bit.

It came when we were supposed to do turns, and I didn’t quite know how to turn. So I turned too slow, and stepped on one of those rich aunties. She gave me such a deadly scare, I think I might have melted into mush on the spot, if not for the fact that I was trying desperately to stay in sync with everyone else and avoid stepping on more people. Of course, a quick apology came with the accidental step, but with the loud music in the studio, I wonder if she heard me.

Then after I came out from the showers, she was first in queue, waiting for my shower. She gave me that deadly stare again – but I apologised already before!! Wails.

These rich aunties who gym, are scary. They are so fit, so cliqueish, they know everybody – they emit power in the gyms.

Groggily tired.

It’s 9ish in the morning, and I finally managed to convince myself to fall out of bed, because there’s tuition at 11am later – and I need to leave the house by 1030.

Sooo sleeepy. Caught Ip Man yesterday with a friend and we enjoyed it sooo much. Loves the cute little boy on the bicycle who comes out half way when Ip Man was fighting and tells his father that “if he doesn’t start fighting soon, the household furniture will all be broken.” HA HA HA. Really adorable. Yesterday night was pretty interesting, I must say. It’s been a while since I was out so late, and caught the (nearly) last 502 back home.

Yawns. So sleepy. There’s still tuition soon. Oh dear.

Today is going to be a very very long day – tuition, tuition then hopefully funkblitz/LO. I should get my ass off to the gym. Hums.

Plenty of good movies coming up, Marley & I, Red Cliff 2, Seven Pounds (Peanutpeanut – Will Smith!) and.. some others which I can’t remember.

Should get my ass off this chair. NOW.

Think.

Someone is selling a second hand 6 month old ESW9 on the forums for $280 – self collect. Should I?

Thinks very hard.

THE day!

27 12 2008

Busybusybusybusybusy.

From the minute I leaped out of bed this morning, I started cleaning up the room. Got heavily distracted by a treasure hunt last night on Duels, so I didn’t manage to do the things I was supposed to do last night. But my room is cleared now, spanking clean. Sorta. Things are stuffed into drawers, where they can’t be seen. Hahaha.

Still a little worried about food, but I think we can make do. My sister went out to buy fruit tarts this morning, and we decided to add one dish on our own – cocktail sausages! My mum looked as though she couldn’t wait to use and finish that pack of cocktail sausages. Hahaha.

Currently listening to David Cook on speakers, his voice is just so -wow. Changed my music player to foobar, instead of using winamp and it has been a pretty good experience! Plus it runs so low on memory, its perfect for my hardpressed computer which is running a little low on ram. I should really increase the ram in my computer, when I can find time to bring the CPU somewhere for people to fix it in.

I know nuts about fixing in the ram card. Urgh.

Leaving the house soon in about an hour’s time, all I can do is to wonder if I had missed anything out. I definitely hope not. I seriously hope people will enjoy themselves tonight!

Feeling a little jumpy – bounce.

Last minute!

26 12 2008

The entire house is busy like a beehive. Except for the parents, that is.

I fiddled with the dratted dvd player for quite a while, before hooking it up to the teevee screen in the hall, whilst the sister bumbles around in the kitchen making yummy baked goodies for me tomorrow. Sweet loves to her. (:

Busybusybusy!

Busybusybusy!

There are still things not bought, drinks and b&js and ice and everything else. I’m hoping I don’t miss anything out. Items on the menu include pasta, chicken, salmon, wedges, salad, cheesecake, tim(??), chips. Something tells me this is not enough. I wonder. Do we need more carbohydrates, or more protein. I could always do them tomorrow, or buy them from the coffeeshop outside.

Hosting the first party ever, then Ling&Shu are coming over on NYE. Lots of fun then, as we had at Ling’s place on Christmas Eve.

There are still things that have yet to be done – I haven’t finished writing my Christmas cards, I have yet to even start on making the presents for the Bridge competition that we’ll have when everyone arrives. Dear oh dear. I still need to pack my room to make sure that it is in good shape to meet people. Things are a little all over the place right now.

NLB should use me as a model for their 2x borrowing months during the school holidays. I carried home 14 books, with a heavy bag and 4 hard covers in hand, and lugged a dvd player home at the same time. I’ve done my workout for today, my arm muscles feel nicely worked. HA HA. I sound as though I’m kidding myself.

Come to think of it, out of the few guests I have, most of them know how to make their way to my place, except for 3 I think.

And the parents are rushing us out for dinner, so that we can go shopping at Sheng Shiong Fairprice for any last minute items.

Be back later!

Clear Skies

26 12 2008

Or not.

Or not.

The skies today have been pretty, the skyline from my house is crystal clear, the buildings are clear against the clear blue skies with the pretty clouds all above.

But my heart has been pretty cloudy, to a tipping point of disappointment. I’ve tried time and again to let go and not matter, but surprises still pop out and give me a nasty rude shock, leaving me with little breathing room and too much grey matter to ponder and dwell.

The morning wasn’t quite nice, with original plans to go swim with sister but it was shelved when I went online and got a nasty shock. Returned to the safe havens of bed and finished up a book, before leaving the room to wafts of baking heaven smells from the kitchen. Sister on baking frenzy, as usual. She’s up preparing the lemon biscuits I asked her to make for the party tomorrow, the party which I’m somewhat hesitant, and worried that something might go wrong, people may not enjoy. Am going to head out later to get a dvd player that is divx compatible, for entertainment tomorrow. People haven’t quite gotten back to me on if they are coming over to cook, or not.

and I wonder to self why I’ve been left out, time and again, over and again.

Learning to be heartless is not easy, learning to let go is even harder. Maybe I really need to learn to be heartless, in order to let go. People have moved on, while I still attempt to hold on to the crumbling bits of nothingness.

Teach the fingers how to let go, and to look for a new beginning elsewhere.

Finally.

24 12 2008

The words are out of my mouth, and I’ve finally spilled my guts. Am so glad everything turned out alright. (:

#32

22 12 2008

The last time I blogged was on 17th December, and since this is going to be random, I can’t put a title to it – hence #32.

These few days have been pretty exciting, busy, emotionally roller coaster-ish, but enlightening.

Went to Batam with Roo and Tok last Thursday, we had a pretty fun time shopping, eating – we had A&W root beer float! (: It was yummilicious. Sweeet. Did quite abit of shopping, bought myself one more bag, a couple more tops, a dress and a belt. Shopping wasn’t fantastically cheap, but it was pretty decent. Pierre Cardin is super cheap there, like $8SGD for a bra. Seriously. But of course, there were some xmas discounts, so it made it all the more worthwhile. Too bad we went for seafood with budget limitations, but I ate the shells out of me with the heap of prawns that they served with our order. Seafood was fresh and good – would absolutely love to go back there without a budget, go get the crabs and the fish and everything else.

Saturday was busybusybusybusybusy. I felt as though I was torn in all directions, with each different limb going to meet different people. Met Peanut and ST in the morning, before ST drove us down to town to meet SY for lunch. It was a pretty interesting affair, having my girlfriends meet my volunteer big bully! Hahaha. My friends seem to be meeting my friends recently. ST had a short meet with Roo too, over dinner on Wednesday I think, before we went tennis racket hunting. Then brought the three over to my beloved Jaben, met with Uncle Wilson for a while, before depositing them in the hands of Uncle Wilson (and the many attempts to poison them three) while I rushed off to meet David to return his precious ES7.

OT: I’m seriously considering the ESW9 or ESW10. The woody babies are just so tempting, and poisonous. I should try them out though. When I do have the sufficient income, I might consider asking Uncle to bundle the Voyager and the ESW10 for a fair price! Tralala.

After returning David his precious, and spying the Westone 2 hanging around his neck, I rejoined Ling and Shu for our triple date at Settlers where we had fun playing Cranium, the expanded version of Taboo, and two other quick games that got all 6 of us into a frenzy. Can’t wait for our xmas eve stayover at Ling’s place – Christmas eve dinner and Christmas breakfast all together! Wheee!

Finally after the triple date, I went to meet the hunkyc for movie and dinner. He went early to get us seats at Sushi Tei and the food was sooo goood. I swear, Sushi Tei is turning out to be one of our favourite restaurants – Golden Roll, yummilicious. (: Twilight was so-so, we could feel the length of the movie, and I kept commenting on the cute-ness of the guys in the movie. Edward was not what I expected. The suaveness and coolness in the book was definitely not protrayed accurately, and Jacob is not supposed to be some stringy pretty boy with long hair. Drop the long hair, I’d say. I didn’t know Eric was Chinese in the book, and that Bella’s father was younger than what I expected him to be. Bella was decent, rather pretty, rather stubborn. Like the reviews would give it, 2.5 stars. Strongly not recommended as a weekend movie. Catch it on a weekday and save the money.

Would love to catch Ip Man but the hunkyc has already caught it with his sister. Anyone? Donnie Yen looks so adorable. I loved him in Painted Skin. Teehee.

Got a new haircut on Sunday and it’s currently driving me nuts. My new hairstyle, is definitely not a easy-to-maintain hairstyle, which went right against what I told the hairstylist. I like it when its nicely washed and blown dry, but I don’t have the patience nor the time to work my hair like how a professional hairstylist would work it. Hate the fact that my hair is naturally wavy – urgh. Wait till you see me, then you’d know what I’m talking about.

Huda tortured me with her workout and machines this morning when I dropped by Amore. She was so amused that my arms had so little strength, she insisted on working on them. Now I’m half afraid of going back and seeing her on duty oh dear. Was supposed to go for LO and Kardio Sculpt, but was feeling abit too awkward to go in for KS, so stayed outside in the gym area and learnt how to work the machinese abit more. Ran abit, before getting lunch and going back home.

Finished watching Top Chef and Wild Child in the afternoon, getting ready to go for tuition later at 7 at Bukit Timah.

I haven’t bought my Christmas gifts for special people, I haven’t finished writing my Christmas cards – I barely got started in fact. And I’m still thinking hard on what to get. Hmmms, continues to think.

And I’m so glad that you’re here with me.

Love

17 12 2008

Budding love is so thrilling. After the thrill it’s not as heartstopping but the peace and stability nurtures you.

- a FB quote I found from Ling’s friend, who commented on Ling’s status.

Isn’t this so true? Sigh. I seek the peace and stability after the initial thrill.
