Lovely surprise!

31 05 2009

My dearest boyfriend pre-celebrated my birthday with me today – and I did not expect it! (:(:

It was supposed to be the Ole! The Latin Music Comedy Explosion afternoon at the Esplanade for both of us, as we bought tickets wayyy long ago (in March when I bulk purchased shows up till July) and I almost nearly forgot about it, especially with the crazy hectic May. But I never did expect him to celebrate it today – perhaps simply because it wasn’t June yet. However we had to do it either before or after my birthday, because I’ll be back in Taiwan for a second time, on my birthday itself, and it’ll be my second birthday! (:(:

Anyways, Ole! was HILARIOUS – we laughed till our jaws ached so badly. It was a resounding success. Midway through the show, I had a very strong urge to stand up and start dancing, but I knew the minute I did that I would be targetted by the really funny trio of musicians and BX would probably pretend not to know me. After the show, I had the urge to run to the nearest CD store and get a CD with explosive latin music, but thankfully I did not pass by any.

It was a really wonderful evening with dinner at Tomo Izakaya at Clarke Quay (oooooh the food there was sinfully delicious, and I salivate at the thought of their sashimi, uber shiooook!) and him whipping out the really (to the power of infinity) nice wallet from Fossil, and we ended it off with sinful desserts from Haagen Daz (I wanted icecream, and I wanted to pamper him with his favourite rum&rasin icecream).

Such a wonderful day, as we ended it with a nice busride on 197 back home.

Tomorrow spells the official start of the holidays, with lunch at Orchard with the GESL people (I honestly wonder who would go), and perhaps a trip to Bugis with BX and his friends for the dive trip (for me a non diver) – but this could happen on Tuesday also. Then there’s Tuesday where it’s Sims 3 launch partayyy at Iluma (I’ve yet to check that place out) with Brandon (please if you’re reading this, get out of the house for my sake) and the evening, free (just in case we’re not going to the dive centre tomorrow..). Wednesday, Ling would like to do something, but we have yet to firm that up. Thursday needs to be free because I need to run errands for Friday (Taiwan!!) and my sister was thinking of going to Chinatown after her class on Thursday too. Then I fly and will be back next week.

Schedule is packing itself up without me noticing it. Amidst this schedule, I need to tidy the accounts for CSC, come up with ST’s diving brochure for him, study up on POA content and set a POA exam paper.

Ahems – and Sims 3 is coming to me on Tuesday.

I should stop waking up at 1130am, but that also means that I should stop sleeping at 4am. Hemhems to self.

Internet!

30 05 2009

Available at the boyf’s place – while he works hard at his powerpoint slides, I upload Facebook pictures.

Today was tiring, but tremendously fun! :D

Gesl day!

30 05 2009

Am mobile blogging on 506, as I rock my way home on the bus. So tired after a near 7 hours of gesl activity in the east. I hope this spells the end of my travelling to the east almost a daily basis. My butt aches from the long mrt ride from pioneer to bedok.

But it was fun, having fun at the carnival and the students. I couldn’t finish spending my 30bucks worth of coupons though. I bought a lot of pens for friends who wanted to come, but was unable to come :) I’m sure a lot of you had wanted to come, but couldn’t make it for various reasons teehee.

This experience made me remember why I had wanted to teach in the first place. Pingyi, is a really nice school and the students whom I was working with, were wonderful :)

Am feeling so tired, and I’m not looking forward to getting home and finding my downtime modem. I need my internet fix. Doesn’t matter, at least I still have my g1. (: the total number of hours I slept over the last 2 days can be equated to the number of hours I slept when I was in school, how ironic.

Shall go take a nap now on 506, its already on the expressway, really fast!

Tired.

27 05 2009

Today shall be a sloooow day – like a really slow day. Am a little tired from running across the island to run errands and complete tasks. This old body wants some really slow time – like really slooooowly.

Yesterday was fun though – went back to Jaben to try out the newcomers like the Quattro and the Woodies. Had the honour of meeting Uncle Wilson’s brother, and talked to him for quite a bit. Now Brandon is tempted with the Quattro, pretty amusing. Spent some more on working clothes – buying of working clothes is sucking me try. Urgh. Can’t wait for next Tuesday where there is the launch party for Sims 3! Yay!

Am still contemplating on what I shall do today.. And I continue to contemplate. (:

Splurge out!

25 05 2009

I’ve blown wayyyy too much money this weekend, but it was fun, like really fun.

I’ve missed the times of roaming in a bookstore for wayy too long a time, at my own pace when I have the luxury of time. I treated Kino like the library and carted home 6 books over 113sgd, and then proceed to spend another 148sgd at G2000 just yesterday on working clothes. Not to mention the amount I’ve spent on food!

I feel as though I am trying to make up for the amount of time I did not spend playing for the earlier part of May.

Now, that is a non issue. (:

Came back from an interview in the morning, and sat down to settle my loose ends, like preparing for Gesl this coming Saturday by sending emails and texts (I’ll be in the east tomorrow and thursday for abit around noon time!), settling the CSC stuff by filling them in and sending them off, settling my claims (yes I am claiming for my books and Kino privilege card).. and they are all pretty much settled. Yay!

Might be jetting off to Batam or Phuket over one of the weekends in June, might be. Might be jetting off to Tioman for another, might be. And amidst all these, I’ll be heading to Taipei for a short trip in the earlier part of June with my family – oooh slurps food! It was hilarious when I asked the girls last night what would they want from Taipei and you should have heard the choruses of 太陽餅,黃黎囌.. It was pretty amusing.

Anybody want anything else from Taipei?

This may look like a month long holiday, but I’m betting that time will fly, in the middle of trying to set an exam paper as one of my assignments, practising on content and questions, and learning new things in the process.

Onwards with holidays, movies, teevee, books and everything else under the sun!

Thank God It’s Friday

22 05 2009

I’m starting to get a little bored at home.

Like how one of my fellow classmates said so aptly, “she feels lost that she has nothing to do for now” in her FB status. To that, I’ll say, “Aimlessness is only truly enjoyed when it is temporary.” – as from what another old friend said on FB.

This weekend is gonna be packed! Starting from Friday afternoon, I go back to school for a 3 hour class, followed by meeting Shuz&Ling&Wanyu for dinner/desserts (I wonder if I can convince them for drinks..) at Liang Court Clarke Quay, tomorrow I’ll be going for Suki Buffet with Roo at 230 and then out with BX and his friends in the evening. Sunday morning BX and I plan to go for some morning walk around our neighbourhood, and then meeting the girls in the evening for a quick dinner!

And then there comes next week. and then the next week where I fly for Taiwan with family, and then I’m coming back on my birthday! Don’t ask me why I come back on my birthday, we had to cut back by one day. Sigh.

Alrights, time for me to get some admin work done before I wander off into teeveeland again.

And the heart doesn’t feel so heavy, for now.

The smell of freedom

21 05 2009

is fantabulous, I must say.

Being able to wake up at any time of the morning, and not letting the ass leave the bed is one hell of an enjoyment. Waking up to the sounds of the finale of Gossip Girl playing on the computer is even better.

Speaking of that, most of the teevee is ending, as season finales come running in. We’ve had Survivor where JT won (dang I was hoping for Stephen to win). HWH and I had a field day trying to analyse how results would have turned out if Stephen won immunity and brought Erinn to the finals with him. Would JT still vote for him, or would the tide turn and everybody would vote for Erinn simply because she had outlasted all the Timbira members and took down the Jalapao Three?

The Amazing Race finished its run as Victor and Tammy crossed the finishing lines as the first Asian American pair to win TAR. Though I must say it was hilarious watching the pair navigate through Beijing, and went around telling everybody that their parents would kill them if they did not perform or was eliminated during their leg in China.

Ooooh and the slurping finale of Gossip Girl – now that was one hell of an awesome finale. Everything that should have been answered was answered, more cliffhangers were created (Serena looking for her dad? Georgina coming to NYU and requesting to be Blair’s roommate? Awesome!). Watching how Chuck FINALLY told Blair that he loved her too (and a million times over) made my heart melt. Now we can officially call them Chair.

And of course, the most crazy American Idol finale this morning, I was following them on Twitterfall and it was as good as watching the finale live. I can’t wait to watch Glambert singing with Queen (and hopefully not killing the songs of my favourite band) and watch how the tween heartthrob killed the glambert king. I still think that Kris winning the crown for the 8th American Idol season was not unexpected, despite how everybody was damn sure that Glambert would win. But think about it, when Archuleta and Cook were in the finals last year, Cook won despite people saying that Archuleta would win. Since when has American Idol not delivered their surprises when they do it year after year after year? Statistically speaking, after Gokey left the competition, a huge chunk of Gokey’s votes would shift towards Kris instead of Lambert. Lambert and Kris are poles apart, and sadly the fans of Gokey belong more to the camp of Kris than Lambert. Hence, I still maintain that this is a good outcome, let Kris have a shot at a recording deal with his crown and all the formalities tied with American Idol, while Lambert can go do his thing (say front Queen?) and I’m damn sure Lambert will get a recording deal (like recording companies will be clamouring for his deal 5 seconds after they leave the stage of American Idol). Damn, I wish I can be there for their summer tour this year – I like this year’s American Idol!

Too much teevee for you to handle? That’s how I’ve been spending my new found freedom – watching too much teevee and spending too much time in bed.

Let me enjoy myself abit more before I come back to real world, and real life. Practicum Office has been giving me scares for the past few days, by calling me and telling me that my posting school has been changed. It has been confirmed and we will leave it as that. Am not announcing my posting school here, but if you already have me on Facebook, then you would know. (:

Finally.

18 05 2009

I have finally completed what I need to do, sloppy job or not. Enough to pass hopefully, I’m too tired to be making last minute redecisions and doubting what I’ve completed.

I. Just. Want. To. Hand. THEM. IN.

Tonight is the first night in a long while that I don’t have things on the list that is undone and urgently waiting for me to complete it. Tonight is the first night, I can choose to lie in bed and not move, and watch the most updated Survivor episode, which coincidentally is the finale night.

Aww shucks JT won. Its not a “damnit” reaction, but I was rooting for the underdog Stephen, as usual. He was pretty witty and strategic. Oh wells.

Brain’s not functioning too well, my thoughts are not coherent, I think I shall have an early night. Yawns.

Goodnight world, you’ve been kind to me, after K&I churned out 144 pages for our pairwork teaching module. We are awesome man.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOAR.

17 05 2009

Inspiration, damnit inspiration!

Please don’t desert me when I’m trying to do a crazy seafaring assignment that will no way appeal to the generically non english lovers in the lower secondary normal stream.

URGH.

I want to scream, I want to sleep, my tummy is aching and I want my holidays. This feels like giving birth, and having a really tough pregnancy.

PUSH.

Blake Lewis – Cover of Rihanna’s Disturbia

17 05 2009

In the middle of trying to do a 1000 word assignment, and scratching my head at that, my brain drifted off and I was reading my dosage of reality news – boy am I so behind. Am definitely going to try and finish everything on task by today so that I won’t miss out on the finale episode of Survivor tomorrow morning.

In any case, here’s Blake Lewis from Season 6 of American Idol doing a cover on Disturbia – I remember that guy for his awesome beatbox! Definitely one of my favourite Idols all time. (:
