Nobody – Wonder Girls

28 07 2009

Apparently this song has taken the music scene by storm, and I was probably one of the last few to find out about it, despite BX’s insistence that he hears it everywhere (but I don’t!) and nobody else around me seems to have heard about it.

And what makes this funnier, is another version that a friend shared on Facebook.

This is the original version by Wonder Girls – they even have an English version, by the very same group.

And then, we have this – holy cow!

This vaguely reminds me of mass dance in RGS, when we all danced together, in huge synchronised manners. And the mass dance drilling – roo, no? :P

Small small world.

28 07 2009

Turns out, the wedding that BX attended on Saturday, was not only his jc classmate’s wedding, but my primary school classmate’s wedding.

How small can the world get? Like just that teeny weeny smaller. I’d probably see it more as our worlds have been overlapping, we just failed to see that because of how we met, and the circumstances in which we got together. And then as time goes by, more and more common events, and friends might pop out from somewhere, we just don’t expect them coming.

Can you imagine, had I been BX’s plus one (when he told me about it in March this year, I vaguely remember he told me around that timeframe), how would things have turned out? This is quite amusing actually. When he said that the girl was of my age, I did ask him the academic background of the girl, cuz I thought hey I might actually know this girl. Gut feel, as some might call it. However, when he told me that the girl went to VJC (his bad, not mine), I just put the thought aside and shrugged it away.

How funny was that, I logged onto FB this morning (I didn’t want to start work so early, you see) and I saw a ex-RCY mate post her batchmate’s wedding online. So I thought hey I probably know who was getting married, and BX’s classmate’s face was staring straight back at me when the picture loaded. How did I recognise his classmate – through BX’s FB album of the wedding (he did not have any pictures of the bride you see).

I am still pretty tickled by this astounding fact, actually. Hahaha.

I’m starting up a new blog (yes yet again, please don’t sigh) but that will be specifically for my students. Students don’t have access to this blog, they have access to this. You could pop by and interact with them (and me!), that’s if they leave comments on my blog. Lols. That blog will remain purely academic – for students and perhaps, school/staff only.

Consistency.

21 07 2009

That’s what I’m trying to tell myself each day of the week, as the week goes along. Actually when you’re in school en site doing work, the days pass pretty quickly. Like take today – it’s already Tuesday and Wednesday comes tomorrow!

After tomorrow, we will be in the later half of the week and then soon, the weekend will come! But first of course, SingDollar on Thursday – the preview show wooohooo! But first, before SingDollar on Thursday, I have something that is way more important tomorrow. Gulps.

We will all survive it – after all, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, you just get tortured in the process. Winks.

Got home early from school because Dad picked me up to drop me off at NIE for a quick drop off of my MC (yes I was sick.) and back home. With that I watched one episode of She’s got the Look, and finished up Potter Book 7 – hence I can safely say I haven’t done any work for today after I got home. Managed to do some work in school, but it was just one lesson plan and some marking. I have tons of marking to do – and I’ve been lugging them all around everywhere, in hope that I’d get to it someday.

Am looking forward to escaping from school early on Thursday so that I can lounge somewhere in town and mark peacefully. (: The later half of the week is always a better half for me, Monday and Wednesday is the all out three periods straight 2 hrs and 15 mins straight of teaching. Am still trying to get the hang of things, though this is already Week 4. Soon it will be Week 5 and we’ll be half way through!

Which means our fellow 5 week counterparts will take their leave. Will miss their company, that’s for sure. Eeeps.

I love reading Potter books – Book 7 made me laugh out loud towards the end. Am tempted to re-read the rest in the series but I’ve got library books too. Hums.

Feeling silly.

18 07 2009

I brought my Protege out yesterday to attempt to do work, only to realise that I didn’t have wireless at Raffles City – a little odd, considering I thought the Wireless@Sg coverage should definitely cover that.

I brought my Protege out today to JP Starbucks to try and do the same thing – only to realise I didn’t have wireless again. I started suspecting that Windows 7 might have tampered with my network drivers and adaptors – so I tried to disable and enable them again.

Then I had a nagging suspicion that something was really not quite right. Slowly, I looked over at my wireless switch on the side of the Protege.

The switch was on the off side. My wireless was not switched on. -.-

I feel like a silly idiot. :( :(

Potter-ed.

18 07 2009

Potter was fun – I won’t say its exactly like the book, but hey isn’t it time for us to grow past following the book in its entirety, since we all know that the Potter movies will never be good adaptations of the books, but a rather enjoyable movie on its own?

Or perhaps not. You’ll still need some background knowledge of the story if you want to watch it as a standalone movie. Please watch previous movies or read previous books before watching this movie!

Hurhur.

Bodily un-well.

17 07 2009

Have been feeling extremely unwell these few days – it has been pretty bad. The entire body aches and feels extremely weak. The world seems to swing by in fast motion and I can’t catch up with it.

Hence I’ve been on MC – for the last 2.5 days actually. Slept the whole of yesterday away, feeling slightly better today. (:

Perhaps Harry makes the world slow down too hehe. No worries, the boyfriend is not Harry. Work is piling up but I’m trying not to think about it. trying my damn hardest actually.

Should bathe and get out of the house and get some work done. Like now.

Sunday morning

12 07 2009

seated at the library, with instrumental smooth jazz playing through my Atrios – shiok.

Working on lesson plans – not so shiok.

But given that I’m doing work at the library, it evens out the moodlets:

  1. Doing lesson planning (work) on Sunday morning = ( – 40 mood)
  2. Nice environment (the library) = 20 mood
  3. Nice instrumental jazz with wonderful earphones = 30 mood
  4. Looking forward to seeing loved one (boyfriend) = 50 mood

Hence I’m feeling not bad! Hurhur. I spy this couple who came in at the same time as I did, at 10am and they brought books and newspapers with them. They took the nice big squarish seats right next to the huge window panes that look out to the outside world, and they are simply just reading their newspapers with cups of coffee and breakfast on the table. I’m envious. If I had the luxury of time with my boyfriend, I would give anything in the world to do something like that on a lazy Sunday morning.

I super like, can. HAHAHHA. Can’t wait for the boyfriend to come down and accompany me do my work. I shall aim to do as much as I can. I’m usually more efficient when I don’t do work at home.

And and and I really really really adore Windows 7! I think I really might get it when it comes out in October! The more I use it on my Protege, the more impressed I am!

Sitting @ Secret Recipe…

11 07 2009

waiting for the boyfriend to come, wanting to do some work. Instead I get online and I start blogging. Whooops.

20% of Practicum down, 80% more to go – woohooo!

In the meantime, IceAge 3D waiting for us at 4ish pm, plus dinner with his friends in the evening. I’m wearing one of the dresses I bought yesterday with the girls. Hurhur.

Windows 7 is really good, did I mention? I’m on Windows 7 RC now and I can’t wait for its launch in coming October!!

Have been in the mood for jazz lately, especially instrumental jazz. It helps soothe the mind so much, especially after a long day at work, and a long week (this week was effectively just 4 days, but still!!).

This entry is so random, and rambling. I should stop doing posts like this – they make no sense. And I really want to get my JH13 Pro – only if I can reward myself after T3. :D

Early afternoon home.

8 07 2009

I left school promptly after dismissal and came home, stayed on my bed and pretty much rested while watching the Bachelorette lazily (i.e. half paying attention to the happenings on the teevee). All I wanted to watch, was how Wes the weasel tried to weasel his way out of Jillian’s Top 3 choices. For those who have no inkling what I’m talking about – the Bachelorette is all about this lady (duh the Bachelorette) trying to find true love on a reality tv show. It has been going on for quite a while already, with the same series with different genders being telecasted at various times.

Wes was just a weasel who wanted to sell his cheesy country records, and has a girlfriend and wanted the fame that came with the strings of trying to string the Bachelorette on. Now that he has managed to make the entire reality tv audience hate him for stringing Jillian on (seriously he had a girlfriend and all the guys tried to warn Jillian about him), he’s finally gone.

Why am I wasting my time talking about Wes? Nothing but a waste of time.

I haven’t done a single thing today – hopefully I can get something done later this evening before I sleep. I definitely need to turn those two lesson plans in by tomorrow. Urgh.

Wednesday – mid week!

8 07 2009

We’re hitting mid week! Like, this week is fast because Monday was a school holiday.

I finally get to re-enjoy Youth Day, how funny is that. And it’s 7ish am in the morning, that bit I know. But my brain is not quite ready to start working yet, hence I’m blogging. Just called up HWH to solve his codec problem, only to find him on his way to work as well.

So sleepy early in the morning and this is such a random entry. Blah.

I know I haven’t been putting in good entries, but if you’re going through what I’m going through now – waking up at 515 every morning, and leaving school at about 4ish, with the time spent in between going for classes, doing lesson plans and everything else, then you’d get what I mean. All I want to do nowadays when I get home, is sleep.

SLEEP!
