Fishes!

30 08 2009

Am tempted to start a new hobby – rearing fish.

Have been picking up new hobbies here and there – things to do to keep myself occupied, and peaceful amidst the usual reading, watching tv, hanging out with BX and friends.

We dropped by QianHu fish farm yesterday (after we went to Farm Mart, and before we headed to Raffles Marina and Jurong Hill) and I was extremely fascinated by the fishes! Ooooh fishyfishy. Hence, I’m reading up quite abit online and trying to figure out what fishes would be best to rear.

The male Betta is soooooo pretty. Me likey (ala Hannah Montana).

Tomorrow is Tcher’s day celebrations, hence the half day! Am meeting wh @ Aston’s for lunch after that (: I had better do some work on Tuesday. After that, it’d just be 3 more days and I’m entirely done for now, at least.

Social life is starting to pick up slowly, 11th Sept is entirely booked – the cat has got the afternoon, and Roo has the night – she’s flying! sads. Brandon insists on taking one day, and I shall insist he goes to Jaben with me. Am getting really tempted with the Tf10+UM reshell idea. Might be doing 1 day JB with BX during the holidays, might be. We might just end up sleeping the day away at home, if weather like today persists.

Oh wells, I hope tomorrow morning would be a fun day – am gonna bring my camera! Hurhur. In the meantime, I shall go read up on fishes somemore, before I go to sleep. I want to rear a Betta, a male one, a pretty one. :)

End of Week 9

28 08 2009

and the start of another semi-long weekend.

I haven’t had the chance for a looooooooooong while to come back home, sit down and rest withut having to worry about work – though I know I still have marking to do. Blearghs. But, that is not on my mind tonight.

It has also been a while since I was home on a Friday night, and it actually feels damn good to be home. For once I don’t have to lounge in the middle of town awaiting people to be free so that I can meet them for dinner amidst the crazy crowds on a Friday weekend night.

I got home today after the staff contact time, read on the bus and focused on my music. Thought about the IEMs that I’ve been checking out, whether to take the custom route (I’ve thrown the JH13Pro out of the mind) or to get a top notch universal IEM like the UM3X or a TF10Pro (the one that Jim has) and reshell the top notch IEM. I suspect the universal+reshelling will be slightly cheaper than the ES3X. But I’d run the risk of losing the warranty if I reshell. Plus I’m more inclined towards the TF10Pro – but it has comfort issues, though the crisp layering of music is oh-so-swoonful.

Shucks. Not that I have the bucks for it now, am stretched a little tight for this month, so if I were to purchase anything, it’d probably be next month.

The birthday celebrations for the month of August broke my wallet. Eeeps.

Helped my mum prep for dinner just now, and I actually found the entire prep process a de-stressing one. It’s like doing mindless activities, where you can just zone out and focus on cutting the prawns, chopping the onions (I didn’t cry!) and get the ingredients ready for dinner!

Plus I’ve told myself that I’m not going to look at the mountain of marking I brought home – I’d leave that to tomorrow. I’ve got a nice night lined up for myself, some facial pampering (which is long overdue), some good tv (catching up on Top Chef and Hannah Montana), chilling out to my not-so-new Bossa CD with a book in bed, snuggled against Floppie, who suffered a night on the floor because I kicked him off the bed.

Eeeps.

I was totally checking out HTC Hero today in the office, together with my other colleagues. We were just goofing around in the workroom, it was hilarious, I swear. Love the guys to bits, they are just simply so much fun. If only we had the company of the TP1 people back too – then at least I’d have more female support! Hopefully they’d come back and join us in school again next year for their TP2 – we’d really have so much fun. I’m imagining, trips up to JB! Sounds like loads of fun.

And it has indeed, been a while since I’ve been able to sit down and ramble like this. More often than not, for the past few weeks, when I sit down in front of the computer, I never had the peace of mind to blog, unlike now. (:

Me likey. Hurhur. (Too much Hannah influence.)

Kumar & 3 Monkeys!

23 08 2009

So far, the weekend has been stupendous.

Very quickly, because I should be sleeping…

  1. Friday night was good because the boyf and I walked around Ion (finally!) and we found our longlost playmate – Floppie! We rescued it from a florist in Ion.
  2. I found a shop in Ion that I really liked! Would prolly go back there more often.
  3. Today was nice – we went to our favourite dining place, caught GI Joe and went to meet his colleagues at 3 monkeys @ Orchard Tower (oooh!)
  4. Kumar was HILARIOUS and so friggin funny! Laughed till my jaws ached.

I should be sleeping, need to be up by 8, so that I can go meet a lens seller with the boyf and get brunch, then get cracking on work. 2 more weeks to go and then I can start looking for friends that I haven’t seen for a loooong loooong while.

In the mean time, toodles! And I’ve been watching too much Hannah Montana. Seriously. I’m not kidding.

I can spend hours and hours and hours on my Google Reader, and still not get bored by it all.

Help.

Gulps.

Give me this baby – quick.

Happy 6 months, happy birthday my darling (:

15 08 2009

Dozo was magical. The food was so goood, the boyf could not stop smiling. The service was first class, and they were attentive but not in your face. They even brought out a small slice of cheesecake for the boyf’s birthday celebration, which they only found out through asking about 1 hour into the fine dining service.

For the price we paid, it was all worth the money. (:

Plus, we managed to take the magnum bus today – so that meant a free magnum for each of us – ecuador dark for him, and Magnum’s new flavour golden hazelnut for me. And we finished the night off with magaritas from Cafe Iguana at Clarke Quay. Heaves a contented sigh. (:

Today was easily one of the best days I’ve ever had – awesome gastronomical food, lovely company, slow and nice and easy. (:

Happy six months, happy birthday my love.
I love you. (:

Pixar

9 08 2009

We are growing up in the times when cartoons no longer mean, The Lion King or Mulan.

Instead, we have animation films, like UpWall-ERatatouille etc. Everyone agrees (well, everybody I know, at least) that Pixar films are classic – they are the animation films that stick by you for a extremely really long time. Plus, they make you feel really good.

I remember, Finding Nemo came out in 2003, and I was in junior college during that time. Finding Nemo got us all into a nemo-crazy period, when we would grab each other’s belongings and start saying, “Mo-ine, Mooo-ine.” You know, the really classic “mine” phrase that sounded part French. We still do that from time to time, at least RL and I do. It reminds me of the good old days when we get all gooey at really cute things.

Actually, I still do get really gooey and squeal-ly at cute things. My friends commented that I could not stop squealing at Remy the rat when we were watching Ratatouille. I squealed through Wall-E and nearly drove my friends up the wall. When I was watching Partly Cloudy (a short film that Pixar traditionally plays before every Pixar full length movie), I squealed at the sight of adorable babies, kittens and puppies. The boyfriend was really very amused.

You get the gist, don’t you.

My sister adores Toy Story, she can watch that over and over and over again. I can watch Ratatouille over and over and over and over and over again. That is the impact that Pixar has left on us, the storylines could be entirely out of the world, but because they are animation films, we go along for the amazing ride and we are never disappointed.

On the move!

7 08 2009

Finally I’ve found some recent android applications to blog on the go. And I finally managed to wake up in time to not take a friggin cab to school. I’ve spent approximately 60bucks on cab rides this week alr. Sigh.

And I’m supposed to be saving. I foresee more money going out of the window this looooong weekend. But I love loooong weekends! And I love my tacile keyboard! :)
