Quest

30 09 2009

to find the book required for my social context module. The very naive me thought that since there are two books in the LKC Reference Section Lvl 11 @NLB, it should be there, without question.

I assumed that noone in their right sane mind would pick the book up.

I was so wrong. I went there early, before this evening’s dinner appointment with RL&SY, in hope of finding the book and zapping the readings required for my essay writing for submission next week. Instead, the shelf was empty when I reached the all important shelf, and the book I so dearly wanted to lay my hands on, was in the hands of an auntie who probably reached the shelf barely minutes before I did, because she just stepped away from the spot that I was rooted to.

The minute she left my row of shelves, I cursed under my breath, a word that nobody should hear and used in fits of anger.

So I travelled to town way too early to wait for the girls. Thankfully I brought the laptop out (it’s lightweight enough) which was originally meant for work purposes. Instead I used it to entertain myself for the last two hours, ghost trapping on Facebook and spending some time on MSN.

Tomorrow is October – ain’t it fast? Jun comes back in less than a week’s time (FINALLY!)

For the month of October, I am looking forward to spending more time with Jun (sleepovers, weekend getaways and such!), spending time with the beloved boyf and close friends, having some work to focus on and do (instead of whiling my time away), the launch of Windows 7 (oh I’m so going to get it) and perhaps the reshelling of my TF10s.

Am totally loving my TF10+enyo cables now, the detailed sound quality sweeps me away every time I listen to a new track. This morning, I switched to listen to David Tao’s first album and the reenactment of 10:30 飛機場 totally blew my mind away. My jaw dropped and I sat at the busstop astounded for a good 30 seconds. Kat Gang sounds wonderful right now too. (: Kon enlightened me on the piece of juicy news that Bev might be reshelling his as well, so I might go look for him to share the cost of shipping.

I should get some structure in my week days – Thursday and Fridays can be awfully unstructured. Bahs.

Yet another mindless uninspired entry, I know.

Reflective, or not.

29 09 2009

I know this blog hasn’t seen quality posts of late, but truth be told – I’ve been contemplating about things, various events that happen in life and their impact/consequences on how I lead my life and choose my social circles.

Have been thinking, but have not been penning them down.

I want to pen them down, in black and white on the virtual world. It helps me to clear the thoughts, and help make the thought process as clear as day. Will have to find the mood and energy to sit down and think, properly.

The energy for tonight to write, has been used to blog a last minute submission on the blogosphere relating to my best lesson on our QCE521 class blog. Not much energy left, only enough to say the following: Peanutto is back, and Junhui is coming back next Tuesday! Some people must be wondering why I’ve been counting down to the arrival of Jun – I can’t help it, it’s the first time in 2 years she’s stepping onto Singapore soil. And ever since she got herself an angmoh boyfriend :P Kidding, we all love Mark, and his drinks treat when he comes to SG for a visit in Dec!

In the mean time, the bed beckons.

Edit: Oh I succumbed and bought The Lost Symbol – Dan Brown, after a hefty discount of 11bucks (courtesy of the remmants of BX’s gift card), making it a final price of $28. Much loves to the boyf for his $11 sacrifice! Teehee. Now, I wonder when I would succumb and buy Men in White.

HOOOOOWL

24 09 2009

@ the moon.

Nay it’s not the dogs – it’s the dueling piano bar @Orchard Emerald!

Popped by Howl with BX & his friends for drinks after dinner this evening, and it was ladies night with free flow bubbly! Aweeesome. Perhaps when RL comes back, the girls could hit Howl on a Wednesday. The 5 of us were pretty amused at some of the things we saw tonight @howl. Hurhur.

Tonight’s impromptu dinner was pretty awesome, I’d say. Met BX’s friends for dinner, and we had a really good time talking. I felt at ease and comfortable, which was really nice. (: Though the Coffee Club @Wheelock had a rather odd menu. Am craving for TCC food! Teehee.

I should be sleeping, but I just felt like blogging for abit. Though I don’t have much in the head and am actually feeling kinda sleepy.

Right, I should sleep then.

Amazed

21 09 2009

@ the number of people awake on a public holiday by this time, and out of the house. Non Muslims, that is.

I woke up earlier than usual (read: @9am), wanting to get to JP to get my personal reflections done (read: procrastinated over the week) @Starbucks and I thought there should be more than enough space for me to get one of the seats that are right next to the power points. As I walked along the corridor towards Starbucks on the 2nd floor, I started getting a little wary – there were too many heads along the booth seats from a distance and it made me wonder if I could actually get a seat.

As it turned out, I didn’t get a chance. Thankfully the parent and child decided to vacate their seats after being done with their breakfast and they were seated right next to a power point. Phew. So now I’m here munching on my raisin scone and Java chip for breakfast, trying to get it done before I pick up some documents for CSC @2pm so that I can send it off to Karen.

2 pages of personal reflection for Practicum – should it be heartfelt, or clinical? Hmms. And I ponder.

Am really not used to having too much time on hands – need to put my time to better use and stop watching so much teevee.

Note – I didn’t say stop watching TV, I said stop watching so much tv.

I should go get cracking on that personal reflection – toodles!

TeeVeeeeee.

20 09 2009

I’m such a TV addict. I’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the US fall season, and it has started since last week – oooh I swoon at the release of the new seasons. Simply yummilicious!

I said I wanted to do my personal reflections right, I didn’t.

So I managed to catch Survivor today and it was awfully shiok – there’s this Evil Russel (ER for short) and he is downright creepy, scary. C’mon, he emptied his tribe’s water canteens and burnt their socks. Seriously? I don’t want him around! Coach was already such a turn off last season, what made CBS think the audience is willing to watch another psychopath on the show? Yeurgh.

Glee is another awesome show choir show, that musical lovers should not miss! Really! Plus BBC Merlin is coming back – or rather, its back.

Yipppeeeeee!

Rainy day.

19 09 2009

I love such rainy days, mere light drizzling, cooling weather, thus allowing people to want to get out and feel the breeze. Alternatively, its a good day to snuggle in bed and read a good book. (:

Today, I was out with the drizzling rain, and we managed to go to quite a number of places!

Had tuition with Dilys, met BX for lunch @Dempsey (I adore that place to bits!), went to Bugis for Kino’s 7th Anniversary 20% discount (where I debated with self over the purchase of Men in White and The Lost Symbol, but bought only Mansell’s Rumour has it), walked from Bugis to CityHall where we found this really cute temporary poetry factory (it was a showcase for the upcoming Singapore Writers’ Festival – bet Ling would have loved it) and BX checked out his wannabuy camera bag @Crumpler. We even had time to sit down for coffee and cake, before BX went for his wedding dinner and I went home for a nice warm bowl of porridge bought from my market area and watched Project Runway.

I even completed 4 months worth of accounts (backlog, yea I know)!

Doesn’t today sound totally productive? (: I shall aim to complete my personal reflections that are due Tuesday (I know I’ve been procrastinating, but I can’t help it when I haven’t been to school since Thursday for class ..) tomorrow morning so that I can kick off my shoes and watch The Ugly Truth with BX tomorrow. I was rather amused when he said he was more keen to watch The Ugly Truth than The Time Traveller’s Wife. For once, I wasn’t the one whining to watch a romcom – he was!

Teehee so adorable. (:

Today was an exciting day – what with the spotting of sparrow on the bus when I was heading for tuition, and the bubbling excitement over my one word inspiration for the poetry factory (they are going to send me the final poem!), and the dining @Dempsey.. I really love my weekends with the boyf. Partly because we don’t see each other as much during the weekdays, it makes me look forward and enjoy the weekends even more, though I’m sure he knows my excitement for the weekend every weekend because I just simply cannot stop squealing. Hurhur.

In the meantime, I shall.. go roam the realms of FB. :P

Shay, the Hero.

18 09 2009

When I first sat down in front of the computer, wanting to blog about random inane things for the last 2 days, I read the rss feed of an acquaintance and read this story on her blog. I’m sure this story has been circulated on forwarded emails, but for once I was really touched by the story..

I’m sleeeeeepy..

17 09 2009

but I just want to jot this down real quick.

Today has been one of the most fantastic days, running errands, meeting gesl mates and catching up with tons of friends, both NIE and not. Absolutely enjoyed myself talking to YX over lunch and Jason over dinner – what wonderful boys, really.

And I miss the boyf sooooo much. Didn’t manage to talk to him over the phone tonight – so I’ll see him tmr for breakfast, so I should be sleeping like now since I only slept 5 hours the day before. I only finished prepping for class at 1am yesterday night, and woke up 5ish hours later to attend a 830 morning class.

Am entirely free for tmr – shiokness. Loves the new trim Titus gave me – he’s really my all time favourite hair stylist, I can trust him with everything. (:

In the meantime, bed I go!

Insane weather.

15 09 2009

I feel as though I’m melting, and stuck in a rut. I can’t get myself to start doing my readings for tmr’s class!

Urgh.

I’m melting.

Long entry, not!

15 09 2009

Cat got my tongue while I was sifting through 6 forum pages on an article from Appleinsider on why Zune HD is full of bullshit. Bullshit my ass – only Apply fanboys and girls will say that of a product that has not even officially been launched on the date of the release of the article.

I had tons on my mind to speak, but I lost them all as I was too engrossed in reading the comments from the Apple and Microsoft camps. And I was waiting for Gossip Girl to be done as well – Season 3 1st episode on its way!

On a very very bright side, tomorrow looks like an entirely busy but fun day! I have class from 830 to 1030, of which I haven’t done anything proper yet – shiiiit. However however, everything after that is gonna be soooo exciting! Am having GESL meeting from 1030 to 1130 (at location unknown), then meeting Yunxiang in school for lunch (finally, after such a loooong time) and then going to look for Titus to have my haircut, and then I will finally meet Jason Teo for dinner!

Sounds shiok eh – don’t envy me too much, such schedules will run its course and end in the next 10 weeks.

I’ve got plenty to work on at the same time, complete readings in time for class tomorrow, setting up the POA wiki site so that we can start working on resources and start sharing the resources so that we all won’t die next year (!!!!) and work is coming in landslide loads. We had a full hit yesterday afternoon and we all walked out of English class feeling overloaded. I had the exact same feeling when I walked out of lecture just now as well.

Gulps.

Will stay at home on Thurs to get things done, hence the hectic Wednesday. There are plenty of things to be done for GESL as Show&Tell is next Wednesday! Gasp. Wonder what went on during the meeting today, which I couldn’t go because of class..

In the meantime, I shall go pick off another square of chocolate to fill the stomach while waiting for dinner. Spoiling thy appetite for dinner I know, but I’m feeling snibblish.
